Dear Mill Creek Members and Guests,
Effective Saturday, May 23rd Phase 2 of Re-opening
With the latest update from Governor Roy Cooper in regards to the Covid-19 virus and phase two of re-opening North Carolina. It is our duty to continue following the instructions of our leaders in order to keep everyone safe. We are still adapting continuously to new and safer operating procedures to protect you and all staff members. Your continued patience and understanding to follow the Federal, State, NCHHS and any additional guidelines set by Mill Creek Golf Club is greatly appreciated!
We should certainly continue practicing the “Social Distancing” policies the NCHHS recommends. Sharing of a cart is optional. We are recommending that each player limit the amount time spent on a cart together to less than 10 minutes at any given time. After completion of your round please return the cart as quickly as possible. Please remove all trash and debris as this will help in getting the cart sanitized and in protecting our staff.
Groups gathering after or before rounds. “Social Distancing” is still recommended for our members or guest and please limit groups to 25 or less outdoors only and please continue practicing proper distancing.
Tee Time intervals. Saturday, May 23rd we will resume our normal 10-minute intervals. We may need to block some tee times as carts are still optional during this phase. A shortage of carts could be the reason for having tee time blocks in place. We will allow walking during this phase on weekends and holiday AM tee times.
Online booking Options. We have online booking available for members and public play. This is an easy way to book your time without exchanging cash or using a card for payment. Go to www.golfmillcreek.com and click on the “Book Tee Times” tab and click on the “Public” tab. All members paying for cart fees, merchandise, and F&B items will be applied to their account thus limiting contact.
Limited Clubhouse Access. Payne’s Place Grill is open and we still encourage calling ahead to place a to-go order for menu items. We will have limited seating in the clubhouse and surrounding area during phase 2. We will allow up to 20 guest seating in the dining area, 12 on the porch area and 11 on the patio area. This does require the 6 foot “social distancing” put in place by the NCHHS. With the limited amount of seating, be mindful that others that would like to be able to use the seating areas. So, please limit your seating time and share the ability to enjoy what we have taken for granted for so long. You can call in your order at (919) 563-4653 ext. 2
Curtailed bag handling. Unfortunately, we will still not be able to handle your bags. Carts are disinfected after each round as well as keys, scorecards, pencils, sand bottles, and coolers. All of the items will already be in place on the cart.
Practice range. Range tokens will be available for purchase in the golf shop. They are kept in a sanitized container.
Flagsticks in. Players are asked to leave the flag in and avoid contact with the flagstick. We have put in place a sleeve around the flagstick that will allow your ball to go in the hole near the top of the cup for easy removal. We are also recommending that you play a “gimmie” or putts that are considered inside the “leather” are good.
No rakes. All rakes have been removed from the course and will remain this way through phase 2. Our recommendation would be to take one club length relief not closer to the hole and placing your ball back in the sand. Smooth the area as best as you can once you are done. Also, we recommend not picking up tees left behind by other players.
No ball washers or water coolers. For everyone’s protection and safety we have removed all ball washing stations and water coolers from the golf course.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call us in the Golf Shop or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org . We are truly appreciative of all the support of our members and guest during this time! We want wish you and your family’s the best and are looking forward to getting to back to a “new normal”. Please stay safe!
Sincerely & Respectively,
Michael J. Long
