Mill Creek 2020 Junior Golf Tour

Junior Golf Development for young people ages 5 – 14

Below, you will see a list of the weekly events at the junior golf tour. Each day young people will also receive snacks and drinks that are included with your junior tour entry fee.

Monday of each week registrants are required to check in on the clubhouse porch by 8:10 am. Players will receive their player packets and name tags. All players will then meet at the Mill Creek Golf Club putting green at 8:15 am. We will begin the week by breaking young people into groups and teaching them skills in the following areas: chipping, pitching, sand play, irons, driving and course etiquette. We will break for snacks and drinks at 9:45 and talk about course etiquette and the rules of golf. We will then continue skill development after our break. We will finish up at approximately 11:45. Parents/Guardians are always encouraged to stay, but we certainly understand work schedules and drop off can be as early as 7:30am each day if needed. Please be sure that your child is picked up by 12pm at the latest !

Tuesday of each session we will meet at 8:00 at the Mill Creek putting green prepared to play golf. If a player has a parent or friend that would like to be an “On Course Helper” we encourage it and ask that you let us know on Monday of Camp. We will equip the “On Course Helper” with drinks and snacks as well as a brief overview of their roles in helping their group of golfers navigate the golf course.  Players will begin the morning learning how to prepare properly for warm up for a round, how to maintain pace of play, and how to prepare for tournament competition.  Ages 5-9 will most likely play a 5-holes competition and ages 10-15 will play a 9 hole competition. Play usually finishes around 11am and we then encourage players to take a break and grab some more snacks and drinks inside the clubhouse. Players are free to leave around 11:15 when they are finished their round of golf.

Wednesday we meet back at Mill Creek Golf Club at 8:15. This time is spent on skill Challenges as each golfer participates in our Drive, Chip and Putt Challenge. This challenge recreates the same testing as the National Drive Chip and Putt competition. Golfers will also earn awards from their skill development throughout the week. Parents are welcome to attend the awards ceremony at 11:15am. We will by finished by 11:45am.
